It may sound a bit surprising, but according to a recent poll around 58 of Australians are currently trying to lose weight! Maybe it isn’t so surprising considering so many of us spend our days manning desks with little opportunity for exercise, then return home to sit in front of our home entertainment system. Moreover, who actually eats a healthy breakfast before they leave for work? Most people just opt for a quick cup of coffee and a doughnut or pastry instead. At lunchtime, we rush to get fast food, and pick up more fast food on our way home to eat in front of that entertainment system! Although our genetics do play a part in our body’s disposition to retain weight or shed it, lifestyle choices are what usually make the difference between maintaining a healthy weight or adding unwanted kilos. So what can we do? Here are some ideas!
Fat Burning Supplements – While some health experts urge caution when using these products, they can really help you shed those kilos if used properly, meaning don’t overdo it! Go for a well-known, legitimate brand like OxyShred that research has proven can provide your body with a healthy energy boost that will help you burn that fat away faster. This supplement contains specially formulated ingredients that address the problem from a variety of angles, dampening your appetite, reducing fatigue, and preventing fat storage, just to name a few! Not only that, but they taste yummy, too, coming in a variety of fun flavours. Losing weight never tasted so good!
Healthy Diet – Look, you don’t need to eat like a rabbit or a bird, in actuality starvation-type diets have been proven to be at best ineffective, and at worst hazardous to your health! And we really don’t need to tell you that binging on fast food every day is bad for you, do we? While having it as a treat once in a while is fun and fine, fast food contains high quantities of unhealthy fats and sugars that are going to report directly to your waistline when consumed in large quantities! The best advice is to eat the things you enjoy in moderation and variety. Eat meat, fish, eggs, and cheese along with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, and sensible helpings of grains. Try to avoid a lot of oily dishes like fried foods, and those with high sugar content. Having a nice dessert is fine, but ice cream and cookies should not be your main course!
Water – One of the biggest mistakes people who want to lose weight make is not drinking enough water, it’s 100% calorie-free, it can help you burn more calories, and can suppress your appetite if consumed before meals! Water helps your food digest and fills your body with the fluids it needs to live. Try not to consume a lot of soft drinks and sodas, they are basically just sugar water with some flavour added, purely empty calories!
Exercise – Did you think we had forgotten? You don’t have to train for a triathlon to enjoy weight loss, just get up and take a walk once in a while! Better yet, go for a swim!
Stay healthy!
